Why power flush

The benefits of a professional power flush

Over time, central heating systems collect rust, sludge and magnetite that restrict flow and rob your home of warmth. A thorough power flush removes the build-up and brings your system back to life.

Even, balanced heat

Restore consistent radiator temperatures from top to bottom and room to room.

Lower running costs

A clean system transfers heat efficiently, reducing how hard your boiler has to work.

Quieter operation

Eliminate banging, gurgling and kettling caused by sludge and trapped debris.

Cleaner system water

Flush out magnetite, rust and sludge that damage pumps and heat exchangers.

Boiler protection

Protect expensive components and help maintain manufacturer warranties.

Faster warm-up

Reach comfortable temperatures sooner — especially noticeable on cold mornings.

Warning signs

FAQ

Power flushing — your questions answered

How long does a power flush take?

A typical Hampshire home with up to 10 radiators takes between 4 and 8 hours. Larger or heavily contaminated systems may take longer. We'll always confirm timings before we start.

Is power flushing messy?

No. We use sealed equipment, drip trays and protective coverings. The flushing machine connects to your system and discharges to a controlled outlet — your home stays clean.

Will a power flush save me money on heating?

Removing sludge improves heat transfer and circulation, which generally reduces how long the boiler runs to reach temperature. Actual savings depend on your home, boiler and habits.

Can power flushing fix cold radiators?

In most cases, yes — particularly when cold spots are caused by sludge collecting in the bottom of radiators. We'll inspect first and tell you honestly what to expect.

When will power flushing not work?

Severely blocked boilers, badly compacted sludge or restricted microbore pipework may not respond to standard flushing. See our limitations page for the full picture.
